Sing Out Strong is a multi-year community-based project in which we reach out to ordinary people in our community and commission them to write texts on activist themes that resonate with them personally. This season, we explore voting as freedom, in anticipation of the upcoming general election. The community's texts will be set to music to make songs which will tour Boston's neighborhoods.

My song is “Prayers for Democracy” for two sopranos and piano. Words by composer/educator J. Andrés Ballesteros.

“Prayers for my country, for my children, for myself.”—composer/educator J. Andrés Ballesteros.
